If you are a professional or a company who is shipping products, you no doubt include an invoice in all of your orders. A Packing List Envelope is the envelope that affixes to the exterior of a box and includes a packing slip and, sometimes, an invoice.  This can be an easy product to overlook but it is a very important one. While all packing list envelopes may seem similar, depending on the kind of shipping you are doing you may find that the different kinds of envelopes that VP Supplies carries may meet your unique needs. From large boxes to international letters, packing list envelopes are a crucial part of your shipping supplies order.

Often times you may ship multiple boxes to one client, or boxes filled with many products. A packing list envelope affixes to the outside of a box with a packing slip. This allows your client to easily double-check the order before they even open the box. It also means that they can carefully catalog the packing slip to compare against the order once they open the box. Protecting the client invoice and packing slip can help your client and also help you.

Packing list envelopes are typically 4 ½” x 5 ½” (or even 6”) and have a strong adhesive on the back. When they are placed on a cardboard box to be shipped they are virtually impossible to remove without tearing off the entire envelope. The durable plastic and specially formulated adhesive backing assure that documents such as invoices, packing slips, and other documentation do not become lost in transit.

Packing list envelopes can come in a few different formats:
Back Loader envelopes cannot be removed without destroying the envelope. Documents are placed in the envelope through the back before the envelope is stuck to the box. The only way to retrieve them is to cut or tear the envelope, which means all documents are protected from weather and handling.

End Loader envelopes allow documents to easily be removed and reinserted. This can be helpful if they have to be checked in or processed before a box can be opened and reviewed.

Recessed Face envelopes have an envelope face that is much shorter than the back of the envelope. This means that documents, warehouse information and tracking cards can be inserted and retrieved easily. This is helpful if boxes are being inventoried or stored.

Special Tape envelopes allow the envelope to be opened and securely sealed multiple times, to readily access documents. This can be good for international shipments when documents must be easily accessed –but also protected on transit routes.

Packing list envelopes can also be used to display Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and they can be custom printed with other company-specific information.
